A former chairman of the Bar Council is calling for an international court for the environment to punish states that fail to protect wildlife and prevent climate change.

Stephen Hockman QC is proposing a body similar to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to be the supreme legal authority on issues regarding the environment.

The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.

But the court would also fine countries or companies that fail to protect endangered species or degrade the natural environment and enforce the "right to a healthy environment".

Did I miss something or was there a global treaty signed by all nations and multinational companies that gives these zealots the power to bring criminal charges on sovereign nations and corporations?

That is what I thought, nothing like that what so ever. So where do these eco-nazis get the idea that they have the power to do so?

Gore joined the firm last November, forging a partnership between KPCB and the London-based Generation Investment Management, a firm Gore chairs, and which steers investments in green and "sustainable" companies.

His motives are not pure, he is just another greedy capitalist trying to scare people and make a buck. Yep, he is someone he despises.

Energy Crisis, Who's to Blame?

The cost of fuel is going up, the cost of food is going up, the availability of corn is shrinking, and who is to blame? Don't blame Big Oil, you can blame Al Gore and the Enviro-weenies, that's who!!

The drive from Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia isn't long, but it's certainly becoming expensive. On a recent weekend it cost me $65 to fill up the tank on Interstate 95. If gas continues its march toward $4 per gallon, there's no telling how much the trip could cost.

It was a worthwhile investment, though. My granddaughters were thrilled to visit the zoo, where they spent time studying polar bears.

The bears are thriving. They can live for 40 years in the zoo. Wild polar bears, meanwhile, live around 30 years, and are also doing well. There are an estimated 20,000-25,000 wild polar bears today, up from an estimated 8,000-10,000 in the late 1960s.

Yet many environmentalists are pressuring the Department of the Interior to list the bear as an endangered species. As the price of gas shows us, though, the real endangered species these days is the American motorist. And, if environmentalists succeed, that problem will only worsen.

The high costs wew are experiencing have nothing to do with Global Warming and saving non endangered species and has everything to do with the Luddites, Chicken Littles, Enviro-wankers and the socialist control freaks that want the public under their power.

I am tired of paying high prices because some HollyWeird liberal has a hard-on for polar bears. I am tired of paying high prices because some junk scientists thinks we should use ethanol which is causing the price of foods to sky rocket. Let Your Lights Shine BRIGHT This Weekend

The Chicken Littles and Global Warming kool-aide drinkers are pushing a "turn off your lights for 1 hour" this weekend.

(CNSNews.com) - Millions of people around the world are expected to turn off their lights for an hour over this weekend in a concerted global dimming campaign meant to draw attention to climate change. "Earth Hour," an initiative of the World Wildlife Fund, begins in New Zealand at 8 PM local time Saturday, and then moves westward as cities in other time zones reach that hour. In Sydney, Australia - where the campaign debuted last year - municipal authorities have agreed to turn out lights on the city's iconic Harbor Bridge and Opera House. In last year's "Earth Hour," organizers claimed that two million people participated and that Sydney's emissions of "greenhouse gases" during that hour were reduced by one-tenth, although those figures have been hotly disputed. This year the initiative has been expanded, and 27 "partner cities" are named on the campaign's Web site, including Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco and Phoenix. Bloggers skeptical about theories of human-induced global warming are promoting a counter-campaign, urging people to use as many lights and as much electrical equipment as they wish during the targeted time period. Some have dubbed it the "Hour of Power."

Even Google, the search engine site that won't post a cartoon on Veterans or Memorial Days, has gotten into the hype.

I say burn your lights all hours of the day so we can offset the stupidity of the morons that believe that man is cause of "Global Warming" (which it's not, we are actually in a cooling period), while ignoring the evidence that has shown that the Sun has a vastly greater effect on our climate than anything we can spew into the atmosphere.

Global Warming, the Debate is Over, and the Cause is Known

Natural forces, not human activity, are primarily responsible for any global warming taking place, prominent atmospheric and space physicist Fred Singer declared Monday at the Heartland Institute's 2008 International Conference on Climate Change in New York City.

What's more, the preponderance of scientific evidence about natural forces causing global warming is so great that the issue is settled, Singer said.

"The science is settled in the sense that we have evidence that most of the climate change taking place today is caused by natural forces and not by human activity," Singer said during his luncheon address at the conservative Heartland Institute.

So the Goracle and his butt kissing minions can pack up their snake oil stand and go home.

We don't need the Kyoto Protocols, we don't need to drive metrosexual hybrid cars, we don't need to spend trillions and ruin economies for something we can't control or are the cause of and we definitely don't need to put money into the pockets of crooks, like the Goracle, for "carbon credits".

UNITED NATIONS — While he acknowledged that scientists are unable to predict its consequences, Mayor Bloomberg yesterday compared the scourge of global warming to the threat of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Although it is a "long-term" fight, he said, reducing gas emissions may save the life of "everybody" on the planet, the same way that fighting terrorism and its proliferation saves lives in shorter terms.

Mr. Bloomberg renewed his call, made first late last year, for taxing countries such as America that emit large amounts of carbons, which are believed to cause changes in the planet's climate. "So long as there's no penalty or cost involved in producing greenhouse gases, there will be no incentive" to meet targets set by international institutions, the mayor told the General Assembly. "For that reason, I believe the U.S. should enact a tax on carbon emissions.

"Terrorists kill people. Weapons of mass destruction have the potential to kill an enormous amount of people," Mr. Bloomberg told reporters after addressing the U.N. General Assembly, but "global warming in the long term has the potential to kill everybody."

Ignore the evidence that directly demonstrates that the Sun is responsible for our current small shift in climate change! Ignore the fact that not all scientists bow down to the Global Warming monster god that promise to reek havoc and destruction upon the Earth!

Those Squiggly Florescent Bulbs That Al Gore and Congress Forced Down Our Throats - They Are Going to Kill Us!

Incandescent bulbs may use more energy, but at least they won't poison us with toxic mercury!

Less than a month after the U.S. Congress passed an energy bill banning the incandescent light bulb by 2014, the UK Environment Agency issued guidelines calling for evacuation of any room where an energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulb is broken, releasing toxic mercury.

The warning comes a month before the British government begins its phase-out of tungsten bulbs, scheduled to be completed in 2011. The switchover to CFL bulbs will save at least five million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, the government said.

Health experts warned this week that people with certain skin ailments will suffer from the new eco-friendly bulbs which cause conditions such as eczema to flare up. Additionally, the bulbs have been linked to migraine headaches in some people.

The Environment Agency's latest advice focuses on the 6 to 8 milligrams of toxic mercury in each bulb.

Users who break a bulb should vacate the room for at least 15 minutes, the new guidelines say. The debris should not be removed with a vacuum cleaner, which could put toxic dust into the air, but with rubber gloves. The broken glass and all residue is to be placed into a sealed plastic bag and taken to a local official recycling site for proper disposal.

"It is possible that the mercury could be released into the air or from land-fill when they are released into the wider environment. That is a concern, because mercury is a well-known toxic substance."

It is so nice that Congress and Al Gore are worried about the planet, but not the people that live on it. And if they were really worried about the planet, then why aren't they worried about those lamps ending up in landfills? (CNSNews.com) - According to a new study on global warming, climate scientists at the University of Rochester, the University of Alabama, and the University of Virginia found that the climate change models based on human influence do not match observed warming.

The new report, which challenges the claims of Gore and the IPCC, was published in the December 2007 issue of the International Journal of Climatology of the Royal Meteorological Society.

The report was written by David Douglass at the University of Rochester, John Christy at the University of Alabama, and Benjamin Pearson and S. Fred Singer at the University of Virginia.

"Our findings basically are that fingerprints - that is to say the pattern of warming - that's predicted by greenhouse models does not match the fingerprints of observations, so there is a disconnect between greenhouse models and the actual reality of observations," Singer told Cybercast News Service.

"This means that the greenhouse effect - while real - is not very important in producing climate change," he said. "It's a lot smaller than what the models calculate."

Singer said the reason why the models "overestimate the effectiveness of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is that the models ignore what are called negative feedbacks which occur in the atmosphere, such as clouds, which reduce the effect of the greenhouse gases."

"Their models just don't consider them properly," he said.

Singer said, "We have to remember that the climate has always been changing ever since we have records, and we have geologic records going back millions and millions of years. We know that there have been huge climate changes on the earth long before human beings actually came into existence.

"We are fairly sure that what's causing the warming are changes in the sun," he said. "These are very subtle changes that are very difficult to observe. The sun is really a quite variable star."

Okay, the debate is over, the Sun is the culprit, and their is nothing humans can do about it. So quit trying to strap businesses, the public and Gov'ts with stupid and outrageous limits on CO2 and other greenhouse gases that have a very minor effect on our weather.

UNHAPPY couples used to stick together for the sake of the kids. Now they can make the best of a bad marriage in the name of being environmentally friendly.

Scientists have quantified for the first time the extent to which divorce damages the environment. The researchers found that the combined use of electricity across the two new households created rose 53% while water use was up by 42%.

Across America – one of 12 countries studied – divorced households used 73 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2005 that could have been saved if the families had not split up. That is equivalent to about a fifth of Britain’s consumption.

So? What are the Goracle slaves and Chicken Littles going to do?

More Global Warming BS

The Man Made Global Warming circus has stirred people up as nothing else could. On one side you have the Chicken Littles running around screaming that the sky is falling, scaring little children into thinking they are going to burn up in a few years,and demanding Gov'ts and businesses waste trillions of dollars on their voodoo predictions. On the other side you have sane people trying to get the Chicken Littles to debate the issue, stand by their studies and quit their scare-mongering.

Contrary to what the Goracle says, the debate is not over, but to some you would think that it is and ignoring the problem is "criminally irresponsible."

VALENCIA, Spain - The U.N.'s top climate official warned policymakers and scientists trying to hammer out a landmark report on climate change that ignoring the urgency of global warming would be "criminally irresponsible."

Yvo de Boer's comments came at the opening of a weeklong conference that will complete a concise guide on the state of global warming and what can be done to stop the Earth from overheating.

No, what is "criminally irresponsible" is blindly following those with an agenda down a dead end road and tilting at windmills.

Meteorologists debate the issue:

KLTV 7 has three meteorologist on staff. It's their job to analyze weather patterns both in the short term, and the long term. When it comes to Global Warming, all three have a lot to say.

It's being blamed for almost every major catastrophe, hurricanes, tornados, flooding and even droughts. More and more people are now on the Global Warming bandwagon.

"Any idea can become mainstream if you just hear one side of the argument," said KLTV 7 Meteorologist Morgan Palmer.

For those who study the weather everyday, the idea of man-made Global Warming is a scientific theory, and Palmer says it has now become political.

"It is because of money," said Palmer. "Folks that are writing these papers, that a lot of institutions are going after, grant money and grant money is given by folks who might have very good intentions, but unfortunately the papers that are being written are heavily weighed on man-made Global Warming."

Now, Meteorologist Mark Scirto and Grant Dade want the other side of the argument to be heard.

"I think it is about time we see the other side of the Global Warming debate come out," said Dade. "Is the Earth warming? Yes, I think it is. But is man causing that? No. It's a simple climate cycle our climate goes through over thousands of years."

What the skeptics want is a debate on the issue, let the data tell the story. But that is not going to happen as long as the Climate Change Inquisitioners shut down anyone that has an opposing view.

And the cost to American businesses to prevent the sky from falling? Trillions!

A misguided environmental-policy bill meandering through the Senate would slap U.S. businesses with pie-in-the-sky requirements for cutting greenhouse gases by unattainable amounts.

The proposed bill introduced by Sens. Joe Lieberman, Connecticut independent, and John Warner, Virginia Republican, would require companies to scale back greenhouse-gas emissions to 2005 levels by 2012 and 1990 levels by 2020. Over the longer haul, the bill would mandate a 65 percent reduction in greenhouse emissions from 1990 levels by 2050. Companies that wish to exceed the greenhouse-gas limits would be allowed to purchase credits from companies whose emissions meet the standards, purportedly to offset their environmental impact.

Titled the "America's Climate Security Act," the bill's end results would cause serious damage to our economic security and at best have a negligible impact on the world's rising greenhouse-gas emission levels. It also does nothing to boost nuclear-energy development, one of the cleanest and most efficient energy sources. The bill fails to compensate and protect consumers from rising natural gas prices and harms job security by encouraging companies to move overseas to nations with less draconian standards. In short, the bill's effects would land a crippling encroachment on U.S. power plants, factories and transportation sectors.

Trillions of dollars, lost jobs and major damage to our economy, all for what?

All for something that has not been proven and is debatable.

As I have stated on numerous times, the Global Warming Scare is not about saving our planet from a debatable problem, it is about socialist control and the ruining of the economies of industrialized nations.
