Texas' Self-Defense Law

Liberals coddle criminals, deem them poor misunderstood creatures whose past childhood drove them into a life of crime. I believe that is a load of BULLSHIT!

America is being overran by those that feel they can take your property, rape you or assault you with no consequences, and Americans are getting tired of this and want to protect themselves. And the best way to protect yourself, family and property is by the use of a gun.

Texas now has a Self-Defense Law which allows you to use deadly force to protect yourself, your property and your neighbor's property if need be. This new law is going to be tested by this gentleman:
HOUSTON -- The cha-chick of a shell entering a shotgun's chamber rattled through the 911 line just before Joe Horn stepped out his front door.

Horn, 61, had phoned police when he saw two men break into his neighbor's suburban Houston home through a window in broad daylight. Now they were getting away with a bag of loot.

"Don't go outside the house," the 911 operator pleaded. "You're going to get yourself shot if you go outside that house with a gun. I don't care what you think."

"You want to make a bet?" Horn answered. "I'm going to kill them."

He did.

Admirers, including several of his neighbors, say Horn is a hero for killing the burglars, protecting his neighborhood and sending a message to would-be criminals. Critics call him a loose cannon. His attorney says Horn just feared for his life.

Prosecuting Horn could prove difficult in Texas, where few people sympathize with criminals and many have an almost religious belief in the right to self-defense. The case could test the state's self-defense laws, which allow people to use deadly force in certain situations to protect themselves, their property and their neighbors' property.

Three cheers for Mr Horn, there are two less goblins to ply their criminal ways on other law abiding citizens.

Why Texas is Better and Safer Than Some Yankee States

Don't get me wrong, I am not getting down on people living in northern states, but I am castigating their Gov'ts because of their Nanny Laws and disregard for the Constitution.

And what am I talking about? I am talking about Texas believing in the Right to Bear Arms and to use them in defense of life and property. And to illustrate my point, read this story:
LA VERNIA — Raymond Charles Bunte, 83, shot and killed a burglar who broke into his neighbor’s house at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 28.

He told deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office that he heard a loud noise from his neighbor’s house on F.M. 1346, Sheriff Joe Tackitt Jr. said. Since he knew his neighbor was at work, Bunte drove his vehicle around his neighbor’s home.

Bunte saw a vehicle he knew shouldn’t be there and blocked it in with his own. He saw that the front door was kicked in and, with 12-gauge shotgun in hand, shouted for the burglars to come outside, Tackitt said.

One suspect ran, but the other, 23-year-old Dustin Brandon Houston, got into his vehicle and tried to run over Bunte.

Bunte fired once, hitting Houston in the head and killing him instantly, Tackitt said. Bunte’s wife flagged a passerby down on the road, who made a call to the police at 1:52 p.m.

Bexar County law-enforcement units and the Texas Rangers assisted Wilson County deputies in the search for the other suspect, identified as Steven Christopher Muniz, 24. Texas Rangers arrested Muniz at 10 p.m. at his home on the south side of San Antonio. He was arrested on outstanding San Antonio warrants for burglary of a habitation. Wilson County has yet to charge him, Tackitt said.

Houston and Muniz had told friends earlier that day they were on their way to commit burglaries in Wilson County, according to Tackitt.

I want to point out several key facts in this article:

1) An 83 year old man was not afraid to owned a shotgun, and had a legal right to own one
2) When hearing noises at his neighbor's house, he didn't ignore them, he investigated them
3) When concluding that there was a robbery in progress, he jacked up the thieves with his shotgun
4) When threatened to be ran down by a scum sucking gremlin, he used that shotgun in self defense

And the last and very deciding point to this article is: The police didn't haul him off to jail for using his shotgun to protect his neighbor's property and his own life, they went after the real criminals!

Now if this had happened in a Yankee State the article would have read a totally different story:

The man wouldn't have been able to own a shotgun! He wouldn't have thought to investigate the noises and possible burglary of his neighbor's home. And most important and the biggest difference being, the 83 year old man would have been arrested and tried for using that shotgun in self defense!!

The core value of being able to arm ourselves, given to us by the Constitution, and to be able use a weapon in defense against real criminals to protect our families and property, are what makes Texas a better and safer place to live. And Thank God I live here in Texas instead of a state that is governed by mamby-pamby bleeding-heart liberals that care more about the rights of criminals that they do about the lives of honest citizens.

Don't Mess With Texas!!!

A Good Week for Texas

A couple of things happened this week that reinforced my love of my state of Texas.

The first was our Governor, Rick Perry, telling the EU to stuff it, we can govern our own state with out their interference.
WASHINGTON (AFP) - Texas governor Rick Perry bluntly rejected an appeal from the European Union to bring in a moratorium on the death penalty as the state prepares Wednesday for its 400th execution since 1976.

"While we respect our friends in Europe, welcome their investment in our state and appreciate their interest in our laws, Texans are doing just fine governing Texas," Perry's spokesman, Robert Black, said in a statement.

"Two hundred and 30 years ago, our forefathers fought a war to throw off the yoke of a Europan monarch and gain the freedom of self-determination. Texans long ago decided that the death penalty is a just and appropriate punishment for the most horrible crimes against our crimes."

No mincing words, no flowery rhetoric, just plain ol' STFU and butt out.

Ya gotta love a Governor that won't kiss the asses of a bunch of dhimmi surrender monkeys.

And next, Texas is still "One State Under God"!

Hat tip to Stop the ACLU for e-mailing me this article. The godless in Texas tried to ban God from our state Pledge of Alliance, and lost!
DALLAS - Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott prevailed in federal court Tuesday, Aug. 28, where a North Texas couple tried to prevent schoolchildren from reciting the Texas Pledge of Allegiance.

A federal district judge ruled against David Wallace Croft and his wife, Shannon, who sought a preliminary injunction because the Texas Legislature recently added the words "one state under God" to the state Pledge. Solicitor General Ted Cruz argued on the state's behalf.

"With today's ruling, a federal judge denied the plaintiffs' attempt to prevent Texas schoolchildren from pledging their allegiance to 'one state under God' - just as they pledge to 'one nation under God,'" Attorney General Abbott said. "The United States Supreme Court has repeatedly held patriotic acknowledgments of the Almighty such as these are completely consistent with the U.S. Constitution. Texans can rest assured that we will continue vigorously defending their children's ability to recite the state Pledge of Allegiance each morning."

The voluntary, teacher-led recitation of the Texas Pledge typically follows the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance in classrooms across the state. According to the state's brief, the Legislature added the words "one state under God" to acknowledge the tradition and religious heritage inherent in America's founding.

STFU you anti-Texas liberal wankers, we always have been and always will be One State Under God. This is TEXAS, not Kalifornia.

Welcome to Texas, iffen you don't like the way our state is ran or it being under God, just turn your Volvo Wagon filled with yuppie spawn, ghey dogs, and Truther videos around and head right back across the border.

DON'T Mess With Texas

A lot of people think Texas is full of hicks and oilmen, but it's not, it's full of Joes and Janes like you and me. And now us Joes and Janes have the legal right to use DEADLY force to protect our property, families and businesses.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texans will be able to use deadly force to defend themselves in their homes, cars and workplaces under a bill signed Tuesday by Gov. Rick Perry.

The bill states that a person has no duty to retreat from an intruder before using deadly force. The building or vehicle must be occupied at the time for the deadly force provision to apply, and the person using force cannot provoke the attacker or be involved in criminal activity.

The Legislature approved the measure this month, and the National Rifle Association backed it. The law takes effect Sept. 1.

"The right to defend oneself from an imminent act of harm should not only be clearly defined in Texas law, but it is intuitive to human nature. You ought to be able to protect yourself," Perry said.

The law will also provide civil immunity for a person who lawfully uses deadly force in any of the circumstances spelled out in the bill. Police and prosecutors can press charges if they feel deadly force was illegally used, legislative sponsors said.

The use of deadly force has been the unwritten law around here, but it sure is nice to have it legal now. So beware Mr Burglar and Mr Car Jacker, we are armed and we have the right to defend ourselves and our property, and we no longer have to just "maim" you, you will be terminated!

Texas Republicans get wacked by the ADL

It seems that Texas Republicans have pissed off the Jews of Texas:
DALLAS (Reuters) - A leading Jewish group on Tuesday asked the Republican Party in President Bush (news - web sites)'s home state of Texas to stop calling the United States a "Christian nation" in its platform.

Excuuuuuse Me!! What did you say?
The Anti-Defamation League, which fights anti-Semitism and religious discrimination, said it was dismayed about the platform plank and other language in the document that describes as "a myth" the separation of church and state, which is enshrined by the U.S. Constitution and court rulings.

"America was founded on the belief that freedom of religion requires that the government take no official stance on, or participate in, religious activity or religion," the group said in a letter to Tina Benkiser, the chairwoman of the Texas Republican Party.

I consider myself to be a friend of the Jew, G-d's Choosen People, and a supporter of Israel, but now the ADL is slamming Republicans in my home state of Texas, WTF!!! Just because the State Republican platform declares that the "myth" of the seperation of Church and State is a "MYTH"?

In addition to long-established Jewish communities, Texas is home to a sizable population of Muslims, members of what experts say is one of the fastest growing religions in America.

Ok, and your point is?

So there are Jews and Muslims in Texas, so What? There are also large communities of Germans, Mexicans, Blacks, Czechs, Italians and Anglos.
Benkiser said in a statement Texans believe the party represents their beliefs and values.

"Our platform is an acknowledgment that most of our nation's founding fathers had a deep faith in God," she said.

"The Republican Party of Texas affirms that the United States of America is a Christian nation, and the public acknowledgment of God is undeniable in our history," reads the plank in the party's 2004 platform, which was recently adopted.

So this is what the ADL is squealing about, that the Texas Republicans are stating the facts and adding it to their platform.
he First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says Congress "shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting free exercise thereof."
The Anti-Defamation League said the Texas Republicans should modify the language in their platform "to reinforce principles that unite our diverse nation." The group said that the party kept similar language in its platform in 2002.

Apparently the ADL can't read too well - "U.S. Constitution says Congress "shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting free exercise thereof."". The Texas Republicans didn't advocate a State sponsored religion, they stated the fact that this nation was founded on the deep faith in G-d. In which it Was!!!. Denying the fact will not make it go away, our Founding Fathers were Christian, deeply religious, and the laws they instituded were based on Judeo-Christian values and morals. Can't be denied and shouldn't be denied. No one said that you have to convert to Christianity, or that the Texas State Religion was Baptist, they were just reaffirming the truth that Moon-Bats and the LLL are trying to wash under the carpet.

In my opinion, that is the way it was, and is. Live with it and Get over it!!
