The Donks are Put on the Spot - Time to Put Up or Shut Up

The Donks are in power because they pandered to the nutroots, and part of that pandering came from agreeing with the impeachments of President Bush and VP Cheney. And now, due to some clever maneuvering by the Republicans in the House, the Donks have to put up or shut up.

House Republicans, changing course midway through a vote, tried to force Democrats into a debate on a resolution to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney on the grounds he purposely led the country into war against Iraq.

The GOP tactics reversed what had been expected to an overwhelming vote to table, or kill, the resolution by longshot Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.

Midway through the vote, with instructions from the GOP leadership, Republicans one by one changed their votes from yes — to kill the resolution — to no, trying to force the chamber into a debate and an up-or-down vote on the proposal.

Very smart move by the Republicans, kudos to the one that thought it up.

Dennis "I have seen an UFO, and all I got was an anal probing" Kucinich's resolution to impeach VP Cheney has forced the Donks in the House to vote their true views (and show America that they are haters and nutcases) or piss off their nutroot base by voting against it. Watching the debate ought to be very enlightening, because watching the Donk speakers weasel around the issue is going to be better than watching Dan Rather's weasel around his fact, but accurate story.

Give the Donks enough rope and they will hang themselves.
