Foot in Mouth Syndrome Continues at the UN's Highest Level

The UN has a new Sec General, Ban Ki-moon, but he appears to be as lacking in the capability dept. as Kofi Anon was. And also wants to start an international incident with John Kerryish stupidity.
(CNSNews.com) - As Taiwan pursues its campaign for recognition in the international community, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has come under fire for stating that a 1971 U.N. resolution says Taiwan is a part of China.

...

Thirty-six years after losing its seat, the Taiwanese government last month submitted an application to join the U.N. under the name "Taiwan," having failed on 14 previous occasions when applying under the name "ROC."

Nonetheless, the U.N. Secretariat rejected the latest application, and in an explanation of the decision, Ban cited resolution 2758.

The resolution, he said, stipulated that "the government of China is the sole and legitimate government and the position of the United Nations is that Taiwan is part of China."

By claiming that Taiwan is part of Communist China, Ban has stirred up a hornet's nest, and he has inflamed the tensions that are already present between those two countries. The ChiComs are already munching at the bit to take over Taiwan, and now with the Blunder Heard Round the World, they may say that they have the excuse. But there is one small problem, the US. We have a mutual defense agreement with the ROC, and if the Red Chinese try to invade Taiwan, we are suppose to help them.

Great as if we didn't have enough to worry about the ChiComs trying to poison us and our animals with their tainted and toxic products, now we have to worry about them invading Taiwan because some ding-dong in the UN engaged his stupid mouth before thinking about impact of what he was saying.

Good move sporto! Let see if you can fix the problem now, and I am going to hold my breath until you do....
