Is Barack Obama a Hypocrite?

My quote of the day was "What makes it so plausible to assume that hypocrisy is the vice of vices is that integrity can indeed exist under the cover of all other vices except this one. Only crime and the criminal, it is true, confront us with the perplexity of radical evil; but only the hypocrite is really rotten to the core" by Hannah Arendt. And now we have a story that Sen. Barack Obama telling a bunch of people that they should drive hybrid cars and reduce gas consumption, and then he drives away in a SUV.

Illinois Senator Barack Obama warns citizens at his 50th Town Hall meeting about gas guzzling. It was among many points made to the standing room only audience at the Metropolis Community Center. Obama spoke on everything from DC politics to global warming. He says part of the blame for the world's higher temperatures rests on gas guzzling vehicles. Obama says consumers can make the difference by switching to higher mileage hybrids. Today the Senator said, "It would save more energy, do more for the environment and create better world security than all the drilling we could do in Alaska."

After the meeting... Obama left in a GMC Envoy after admitting to favoring SUV's himself.

Yes, Obama is a Democrat, thus that makes him default hypocrite. And naturally when Obama's loyal toadies saw this article, they responded with this:

Obama's press office sent us this additional information: "A story your station ran seems to imply that my boss Senator Obama was being hypocritical when he said Americans should drive more fuel-efficient vehicles though he was himself traveling in an SUV.

The SUV in question, though, is a Flexible Fuel Vehicle that can run on E85, which the Senator fills it with wherever its available (and in fact he's worked very hard to provide tax credits to increase availability and access to e85). I believe in light of these facts the story is misleading and warrants a correction."

Note that the toadies said "the Senator fills it with wherever its available". Even though he preaches to everyone else to drive hybrids, he himself drives a SUV that DOESN'T always burn E85. They tried to defend Obama's lusting for gas guzzling vehicles, by saying he tried to buy ethanol, but in reality, he drives a SUV that guzzles gas a lot of the time. The toadies can't cover up the truth - Obama is a gas guzzling SUV driving HYPOCRITE!
